CHICAGO: US soybean futures fell early at the Chicago Board of Trade on Thursday on improving crop weather in the Midwest, traders said.
Corn was mixed, with the front-month contract sagging but the new-crop December contract rising on bargain buying after sharp declines earlier this week. CBOT wheat futures also edged higher after falling to a three-month low.
At 9:38 a.m. CDT (1438 GMT), CBOT July soybeans were were down 6 cents at $13.62 per bushel and CBOT July wheat was up 2-1/4 cents at $7.10-3/4. CBOT July corn was down 1/4 cent at $7.25-1/2 a bushel while CBOT December corn was up 3 cents at $6.69 a bushel.
