Pakistan, China to establish media cooperation

chinaKUMING: Pakistan and China have agreed to develop bilateral cooperation in media to promote common interest and bring the people of the two countries more closely to each other.

It was noted during a meeting held here on Tuesday that the media persons can develop greater understanding to present the prevailing situation in the region in its true prospective.

Pakistani delegation was led by Mohammad Bilal Taheem, General Secretary of Islamabad Union of Journalist. The Chinese side was represented by Zhao Shuqing, President of the Yunnan Television.

The two sides discussed the prospects of enhancing their bilateral interaction and exchanges of media delegations on frequent basis.

They underlined the need that as Pakistan and China are celebrating the 60th anniversary of establishment of their diplomatic relations they should encourage their media for creating awareness among the masses of their common interest in order to further strengthen their socio economic ties.

They further said the media of the two countries need to play a proactive role as their joint strategy to remove misconception on various issues.

The Pakistani delegation which included Adnanul Hassan, Javed Akhtar from (APP) briefed the Chinese media about the prevailing political situation in Pakistan and expressed strong determination of Pakistani leadership to stem out terrorism and join hands with the regional countries for promoting peace and prosperity.

The delegation was on a visit to China to attend South Asia and South East Asian countries regional commodities Fair. The event was attended by a large number of journalists from various regional countries.
