SUKKUR: PML-N leader Mumtaz Ali Bhutto Friday said that the country suffered immeasurably during PPP tenure, as neither the former president nor any of his ministers did anything for the people. Addressing a public gathering here, he said that the economy had been destroyed whereas situation in rural Sindh had become so bad that people were afraid of travelling during night.
"We used to have meetings with people who came to us at night because of hot summer.Now, they have come to us during day time as they feel insecure after sunset to leave their homes".
"The PPP will not be able to take any benefit from the name of Bhutto in future", he claimed.
He alleged that recent drought in Tharparkar had exposed the wrong policies, administrative incompetency and corruption in Sindh province.
He said that the federal government had fulfilled its responsibility by helping the drought affectees of Tharparkar as well as Sindh province.
Elected PPP members from the area were absent when the people were facing drought, he said, adding that the steps taken by Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif had provided relief to the victims, who received ration and cash assistance.
