66 shopkeepers fined for overcharging

KARACHI: The district and divisional administration Karachi has challaned 66 shopkeepers and imposed fine amounting to Rs1,53,500 for overcharging and violating officially approved price list.

The action against profiteers was taken in the areas including Gulberg, North Nazimabad, Bin Qasim, Shah Faisal, Garden, Saddar and Gulshan Iqbal.

The district administration during crackdown fined four flour sellers, 36 chicken sellers, three food items grocers, five vegetable sellers, three fruit sellers and 15 milk sellers.

Commissioner Karachi Shoaib Ahmed Siddiqui said that action against profiteers will continue till profiteers stop violating the officially approved price list.
