KARACHI: The members of MQM’s Rabita Committee have said that the Governor of Sindh is the representative of the federation. He cannot represent a political party, according to the law and the constitution.
The Rabita Committee said that the federal government has issued a statement which was shown on different Television channels that Governor Sindh Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad will represent MQM in the cabinet meeting after the press conference of the MQM leaders at the Karachi Press Club.
Commenting on the statement of the federal government, members of the Rabita Committee said that presidents, prime ministers and governors are normally from political parties. However, they have to resign from the basic membership of their parties after they take oaths. They cannot represent parties after this.
It is being said that Dr. Ishrat-ul-Ebad will attend the cabinet meeting as the representative of MQM. If he does this then he will violet his oath because he cannot represent any party according to the constitutional and legal laws.
