(Karachi) Special Assistant to Prime Minister on National Health Services Dr Zafar Mirza has said that 72 percent people are over 50 years of age who have lost their lives due to coronavirus infection.
Addressing a media briefing in Islamabad on Sunday, he called for taking special care of elders in wake of the coronavirus pandemic. He said the senior citizens should avoid public transport and crowded places.
Mirza maintained it is essential to wear face masks, observe social distancing and frequent hand washing to stay safe from the COVID-19.
He highlighted that the government has issued special guidelines at the website: covid.gov.pk, for protection of the senior citizens from coronavirus.
