During the past few days, self-driving cars of various companies, including Uber, have reportedly been involved in road accidents and this time it was Waymo’s minivan.

Waymo, the cousin company of Google, was involved in a car crash on Friday in Chandler, Arizona with a Honda sedan travelling in opposite direction.

As per Tech Crunch, officials reported that a Honda sedan was traveling in the eastbound direction had to swerve in an attempt to avoid a vehicle travelling northbound. As it swerved, it headed into the westbound lane and struck the Waymo vehicle that was in self-driving mode.

Though in self-driving mode, an operator was present in the driver’s seat that faced minor injuries. However, the report does not indicate if the Honda sedan occupants faced any injuries or not.

Reports claim that police are currently investigating the matter but, as per Chandler police, Waymo’s vehicle was not at fault, reported CBS News.

According to ABC15 News, Waymo provided the following statement, “Our team’s mission is to make our roads safer — it is at the core of everything we do and motivates every member of our team. We are concerned about the well-being and safety of our test driver and wish her a full recovery.”

The accident does not come long after an Uber self-driving car was involved in a road accident in Tempe, Arizona that struck and killed a pedestrian. The accident led to Uber halting its self-driving tests nationwide.
