When Apple’s co-founder Steve Jobs needed a job, he submitted a job application that was his first ever job application, which is now up for auction.

Back in 1973, when there was no company named ‘Apple’, 18-year-old Jobs dropped out of Reed College and wanted a job. He wrote a job application and it is currently up for auction at RR Auction, ending March 15, with current bid of $50,000.

According to BGR, Jobs enrolled at the college in 1972 as an English Literature major student and dropped out just after six months after he couldn’t see the value in it. He did not have any idea what to do with his life so, instead of wasting his parents’ money, he decided to drop out.

In his hand-written job application, Jobs described his special abilities as ‘electronics tech’ or ‘design engineer’, and ‘digital’ as his interests along with stating his former work experience at Hewlett-Packard. He also listed ‘computer’ and ‘calculator’ under the skills section; also, ironically, Jobs did not even have a phone back then.

As per Business Insider, just after three years of this application, Jobs co-founded Apple with Steve Wozniak and released the Apple I computer, which was an immediate success. The success further led to Apple II, Macintosh, and finally to the iPhone.
