Pakistani civil society, celebrities, cricketers and politicians have united to demand justice for minor girl, Zainab, who was raped and murdered in Kasur, Punjab.
The girl was found dead on Tuesday after she was kidnapped from Shehbaz Khan Road in Ghandra area and later raped. Her body was found five days after she went missing under mysterious circumstances.
People from all walks of life, including politicians, media persons and sports stars, have voiced their concern over the deteriorating norms and morality in Pakistani society. The police have yet to arrest the culprit behind the heinous crime.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister (CM) Punjab Shehbaz Sharif took notice of the incident after the news started circulating on social media. The CM has ordered authorities to immediately arrest culprits and has also summoned a report from the inspector general of the police over the matter. The culprits won't be able to escape punishment, he said, adding that the family of the deceased girl will get justice. The CM has also said that he will personally supervise the progress of the case.
Many took to social media to condemn the incident and demanded justice for Zainab. “Being a father I just can’t imagine the pain of parents after this. Condolences to her parents and alarming situation to society we are living in. Government should do prompt action against the culprit and give justice to Zainab,” wrote Hafeez on social media.
