CAIRO: The lowest offer in Egyptian state-buyer GASC's international tender for vegetable oils was $843 per tonne C&F for 30,000 tonnes of soyoil and $791 a tonne C&F for 10,000 tonnes of sunflower oil, traders said on Tuesday.
No purchase has been made and a decision is expected later on Tuesday.
GASC said it is seeking at least 10,000 tonnes of sunflower oil and 30,000 tonnes of soyoil for delivery from Jan. 1-15.
The buyer is also seeking offers in Egyptian pounds for at least 10,000 tonnes of soyoil for delivery during the same period.
Traders said the following offers were made in the tender in dollars per tonne:
ADM: 30,000 tonnes of soyoil at $843 a tonne and/or 10,000 tonnes of sunflower oil at $791 a tonne
Glencore: 30,000 tonnes of soyoil at $859 a tonne and/or 10,000 tonnes of sunflower oil at $812 a tonne
Olam: 30,000 tonnes of soyoil at $845 a tonne and/or 10,000 tonnes of sunflower oil at $797 a tonne
Aston: 11,000 tonnes of soyoil at $794 a tonne and/or 17,000 tonnes of sunflower oil at $792 a tonne
Watanya: 30,000 tonnes of soyoil at 14,740 Egyptian pounds ($837.98)a tonne.
