Masood hopes to increase strategic relations between Pakistan, Britain

Talking to Radio Pakistan , Talat Masood said strategic dialogue between Pakistan and Britain has great importance as both the countries are allies in war on terror and have common interests and also some differences. In this background it was immensely necessary that leaderships of the two countries should meet.

He said that considerable portion of population in Britain is of Pakistani origin and it is significant for British politicians during elections there. Britain also provides aid to Pakistan in education and social sector.

General Masood further said Britain and US have close ties and generally Britain follows the policies of US hence it is very significant aspect that if Pakistan enjoys good relations with UK this could cast positive effect on relations with US.

He said through Britain Pakistan has got a platform to advance its stance at NATO as Britain is very important member of it.     He said Pakistan could get its efforts and sacrifice recognized in NATO countries and by presenting its case effectively can get more aid and assistance by projecting its sacrifices.
