Zardari constitutes committee on gas load management

Talking to the journalists here President All Pakistan Textile Mills Association (APTMA) Gohar Ijaz said that President Secretariat has also issued the notification for committee members. The six members committee for gas load management issue would consist on Syed Khursheed Shah Federal Minister for Religious Affairs, Raja Pervez Ashraf MNA, Anwar Saifullah, Secretary Ministry of Petroleum & Natural resources, Gohar Ijaz Chairman APTMA and Managing Director SNGPL.

Gohar Ijaz said that SNGPL has issued a new schedule for three and half day gas loadshedding for industry. He said if gas would not available the textile industry could not meet the export orders. He said presently all 225 members units of APTMA were closed for three days due to non availability of gas. He said SNGPL was not supplying the gas to industry even in April when the temperature has been reached up to 36 centigrade and gas heaters and gas appliances were also switched off.

Gohar said that six members committee on gas load management issue would sit on April 6 in Islamabad and APTMA would demand for giving full power to the committee on gas load management issue and stressed for a drive against gas theft. He said some 200 MMCFD gas were stealing from the SNGPL system and if it would be controlled this gas was enough for fertilizer and power plants as well as industry.

He offered the government that APTMA was ready to import LNG and we could make a consortium for this purpose for arrange the investment for this purpose.
