The company has to carryout load management in different sectors to meet the shortfall and save their system from collapsing, she said.

She said the government was taking pragmatic steps to bridge the gap between demand and supply and vigorously pursing various projects including import of LNG and Pak-Iran Gas Pipeline Project.

To a question, the Parliamentary Secretary said that ban on import of CNG kits had restricted further usage of CNG in automobiles.

She said that weekly three days CNG closure was being carried out to ensure gas supply to domestic consumers as in winter the demand also increased.
