OGDCL takes solid steps for provision of basic facilities

As part of such efforts, the company's spokesman said as many as 175 water storage tanks would be constructed to provide clean drinking water to people in Tehsil Shakardara, Kohat.

 

He said these facilities would be ensured at a cost of Rs 6.6 million.

 

The Company has been operating in the area for the last several years and extracting 7,500 barrels of crude oil per day and 28 million cubic feet gas.

 

Similarly, the Company has already taken effective steps for provision of basic facilities to people of the area.

 

The Company had released funds of Rs 1 million for reconstruction of government high school at Shakardara, he added.

 

Moreover, the OGDCL is providing clean drinking water to residents of the areas with tractor-trolleys, costing Rs 1.2 million a month.

 

In addition, funds are released for provision of medicines to district headquarters hospital of the Tehsil Shakardara at a cost of Rs 40,000.

 

The company has constructed a road linking Indus Highway at a cost of Rs 90 million and the local people had been given jobs as part of strategy to eradicate poverty from the area.

 

He said the OGDCL's net sales increased to Rs 53.795 billion compared to Rs 44.686 billion in the corresponding period of last year.

 

Similarly, he added, the net profit before taxation increased to Rs 36.414 billion compared to Rs 31.098 billion in the corresponding period of last year.

 

While Net profit after taxation increased to Rs 25.656 billion compared to Rs 21.915 billion in the corresponding period of preceding year translating into an Earnings per Share of Rs 5.97, he added.
