Eight more killed in Karachi as violence spree continues

The bodies were shifted to the Jinnah Postgraduate Medical Center (JMPC) for medico-legal formalities. The identity of the victims could not be ascertained till filing this report. The bodies were moved to Edhi Morgue. Later the victims were identified as Saeed 25 son of Akbar and Sardar 26. Police said that they also had criminal record.

Separately, a young man was found shot dead at Khajoor Market in Lea Market area in the limits of Kharadar police station. Police said that unidentified victims seemed to be in his mid-twenties. The body was shifted to the Civil Hospital Karachi for medico-legal formalities. Separately, a man was shot dead in North Nazimabad Block-S in the limits of Shahrah-e-Noor Jahan police station.

A duty officer said that the victim was identified as Barkat Ali, 28 son of Shafat, resident of Kanwari Colony. The body was shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities. In another incident a man was killed when unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on him in Landhi number 1 area.

Landhi police said that unidentified armed men riding a bike opened indiscriminate fire on Zeeshan Ghouri son of Latif near Chiragh Hotel. He was rushed to the JPMC where he succumbed to his injuries. Police said that the victim was the resident of same area.

Separately, Sohrab Goth police found a body of a man from an abandoned place near Journalists’ Colony at Ayub Goth area, police said.

Police said identity of the deceased could not be ascertained but he looked middle-aged man. They said unidentified culprits kidnapped and killed him and threw the body at secluded place.

The body was moved to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital for medico-legal formalities.

In another incident an activist of Jamaat-e-Islami (JI) was shot dead in New Karachi. Police said that unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire on Imran Akhtar, 28 son of Akhtar Ali near Sindhi Hotel in New Karachi area when he was sitting near his brother’s shop. He died on the spot.

The victim was the resident of same area. In another incident an activist of Muttahida Qoumi Movement (MQM) was gunned down, while another injured near Qasba Morr in the limits of Orangi Town police station, police said.

Police said that unidentified armed men opened indiscriminate fire near Qasba Morr. As a result Javaid and Noman received bullet injuries. Later, Javaid succumbed to his injuries.

The body and the injured were shifted to the Abbasi Shaheed Hospital.
