Project for fruit, vegetable coating

PARB sorces told APP on Saturday the objective of the project is to develop appropriate application technology for locally developed skin coating materials and the project would cost approximately Rs 9.971 million and complete in 48 months.

 

In this project local based wax coating material has to be identified and applied to various horticulture crops like mango, grapefruit, kinnow, peach, cucumber, tomato, bell pepper and melon.

 

The project has developed and standardized wax coating by using indigenous material. It has successfully been tested in laboratories at micro level and in the next phase will be tested at the Sargodha citrus industry at macro scale.
