Power shortfall touches 3,228MW mark

LAHORE: The electricity shortfall remained 3,228MW on Tuesday, resulting into 8 to 10 hours load shedding in urban areas and 12 to 14 hours load shedding in rural areas respectively.

 

According to a report of the Energy Management Cell electricity demand was 15,454MW, while 12,226 MW could be generated through all resources, causing a shortfall of 3,228MW.

 

The report claimed that the shortfall is mainly due to Discos constraints on account of heavy rains and industrial cuts.
