Bhutanese PM arrives on three-day visit

The Bhutanese Prime Minister was warmly received at the Benazir Bhutto International Airport by the Minister for Communications Dr Arbab Alamgir Khan and senior officials.

Two children clad in traditional dress presented bouquet to the Prime Minister of Bhutan, as he alighted from his plane along with his delegation.

Pakistan deeply valued its cooperative relations with the Kingdom of Bhutan. The people of two countries enjoyed century’s old bond of friendship and cultural affinity, a statement issued by foreign office.

As the SAARC chairman, Bhutan played a commendable role in promoting regional cooperation, the statement said.

Foreign Office spoke person Tehmina Janjua said that Pakistan looks forward to working with Bhutan for promoting comprehensive, mutually beneficial cooperation in South Asia under the SAARC auspices.

The visit of the Bhutanese Prime Minister would contribute to strengthen further existing excellent bilateral relations between Bhutan and Pakistan, she added.
