KARACHI: Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber and ‘The Twilight’ sustained their runs as teen’s favorite, winning the top honors at this year’s Teen Choice Awards. 

Country Music Star Taylor Swift, 22, bagged five awards including Choice Female Artist, Choice Country Artist, Choice Single by a Female Artist for ‘Eyes Open’, Choice Country song for ‘Sparks Fly’ and Choice Movie Voice for her work in animated comedy ‘Dr Suess The Lorax’. Her five wins give her a total of 20 Teen Choice Awards.

Canadian Pop Star Justin Bieber, 18, who was second among the top winners received four awards including Choice Male Artist, Choice Male Music Star of the Summer, Choice Male Fashion Icon and Choice Single by Male for ‘Boyfriend’ bringing his Teen Choice Awards total to 12 awards. Bieber’s girlfriend and birthday girl Selena Gomez, who celebrated her 20th birthday on Sunday, also received an award for Best Music Group and Best Single by a Group with her band ‘The Scene’.

Teen choice’s favorite film ‘Twilight: Breaking Dawn, Part 1’ took home two awards for Choice Romance Movie and Choice Movie Actress for its lead female Kristen Stewart. ‘The Twilight Saga’ received the Ultimate Choice Award. The blockbuster franchise and its actors have won 41 Teen Choice awards over the last four years.

The Teen Choice Awards, voted by teen viewers, are honors given to teen actors, musicians and other artists for their extraordinary achievements in their respective fields. The trophies are life-size surfboards and are given in numerous categories across film, television and music.
