Raza Abbas said presently the export of wheat needs to be restored in order to utilize the past two year's storage of its quota. Moreover, the farmers should also be given instructions to thoroughly analyze the crop before cultivation for best production.
He complained the authorities for not taking into consideration negative impacts of the imposition of withholding, turn over, and local taxes on the farmers and demanded they should revert their decision in this regard.
Replying to a question he said the government should fix a target to tax the agricultural income rather than tax the agriculture and fulfil their requirements.
He said the flour mill owners should also be discouraged of going to far flung sectors to bring wheat quota and the same be issued to them from Food Safety Reserves as has been done earlier.
"The closure of major flour mills had already unemployed a large number of its workers which led to their survival to become more difficult and thus added burden on the economic stability of the country", he said.
