Shipping at Port Qasim

Meanwhile two more ships with phosphoric acid and palm oil also arrived to outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the same day.

Berth occupancy was managed at the port at 50% on Wednesday where seven ships namely C.V MSC Namibia, C.V CMA CGM Verdi, M.V Salta, M.V Cyrus-I, MV Union Emma, M.T Golden Dynasty and M.T AI-Salam-II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, cement, bitumen, iron ore, palm oil and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 99,960 tonnes, comprises 82,219 tonnes imports and 17,741 tonnes exports, inclusive containerized cargo carried in 2,503 Containers (1,709 imports and 794 exports TEUs) were handled at the Port during last 24 hours.

Oil tanker AI-Salam-II sailed out to sea on Thursday morning, while three more ships C.V MSC Namibia. C.V CMA CGM Verdi and M.V Union Emma, are expected to sail on same day afternoon.

Three ships C.V Belgica, M.V STX Rose-I and M.T Siva Mumbai scheduled to load/offload containers, barge and phosphoric acid are expected to take berths at Container Terminal and Engro Terminal respectively on Thursday.

C.V CMA CGM Amber and C.V Lantau Arrow are due to arrive at Port Qasim on same day while two more container ships MSC Jade and Safmarine Ngami are due to arrive on Friday.
