Rs62bn compensation paid to Mangla Dam affectees

"The affected families are given the compensation amount in accordance with the market rates," the sources said.

They said the process was completed according to the agreement reached between the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) and the Azad and Jammu Kashmir (AJK) government.

The payment of the amount has been made to the concerned in the light of the record of the Revenue Department, they added.

The sources said each and every affectee was compensated with due financial relief in minimum possible time and if any affectee have any grievance he/she may contact the local office of the Mangla Dam Resettlement Organization.

Meanwhile, construction work in new Mirpur Garden City and four new towns, exclusively meant for the fresh Mangla dam affectees, has been accelerated and near to completion.
