Talking to a news channel, Kaira said that the institutions were confronting numerous problems in the past. But the PPP government after coming into power made earnest efforts to strengthen national institutions.

He said that the PPP had been struggling to resolve the problems of the poor and the needy.

He said, "We are utilizing all available resources to steer the country out of all the crises."

To a question, he said that the government had launched development projects including construction of water reservoirs to meet the growing demand of the energy sector.

The PPP Information Secretary urged all the stakeholders to play their due role for the speedy progress and prosperity of the country.

"The PPP believes in politics of reconciliation", he said, adding the party had set a new precedent in the country by taking all the stakeholders on-board on all national issues.

The government is trying to meet the challenges of modern age and efforts are being made to control loadshedding of gas and electricity, he added.

Replying to a question, he said that the political differences would be settled amicably through the dialogue process.

To another question, he said that the government had initiated Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP) to mitigate the sufferings of the poor and needy particularly in rural areas.
