80-member FPCCI team to participate in China-South Asia Business Forum

LAHORE: An eighty-member FPCCI delegation is leaving for Kunming city of the Yunnan province of China to participate in the three-day 7th China- South Asia Business commencing tomorrow.

Pakistan delegation includes FPCCI President Fazal Sherani, Haroon Rasheed , Mansha Churra, Zubair F Tufail, Hameed Akhtar Chadda, Chaudhry Aamer Ata Bajwa, Manazir A Nasir , Kunwar Qutub Uddin, Mian Mehmood Ahmad, Saarc CCI vice president Iftikhar Malik, Secretary General Iqbal `Tabish and EC member Ms Salma Ahmad, Pakistan's Commerce Minister Amin Fahim and Vice Chairman of China Council for the Promotion of International Trade Wang Jinzhen will inaugurate the Forum which will also be addressed by Commerce Minister of Sri Lanka and Deputy Commerce Minister of Bangladesh.

A Saarc CCI press release said that forum is expected to be attended by more than 500 delegates including 120 business delegates from South Asian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Tariq Sayeed, former President CAARC CCI who is also rotating Chairman for 7th China South Asia Business Forum will lead Saarc delegation in absence of Vikramjit Singh Sahney of India.

The Forum is perceived as a strategic economic alliance between China and South Asian business enterprises, which aims at promoting bilateral trade between two civilizations. The trade volume between China and South Asian countries was estimated $ 85 billion in 2011 as compared to 40 billion in 2006 when the Forum was constituted.
