Activities of Karachi Port and Port Qasim

The Karachi Port handled 119,476 tonnes of cargo comprising 102,138 tonnes of import cargo and 17,338 tonnes of export cargo including 3,011 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Friday.
The total import cargos of 102,138 tonnes comprised of 37,565 tonnes of containerised cargo; 30,459 tonnes of general cargo; 4,587 tonnes of bulk cargo and 29,527 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 17,338 tonnes comprised of 09 tonnes of containerised cargo and 17,329 tonnes of bulk cargo.
As many as 3,011 containers comprising of 2,425 containers of import and 586 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 843 of 20's and 787 of 40's loaded while nil of 20's and 04 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 02 of 20's and nil of 40's loaded containers while 68 of 20's and 258 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were three ships namely Navios Unison, Nordic Anne and Universe-1 carrying containers, mogas and clinkers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were six vessels carrying containers, oil tanker and clinkers respectively currently at the berths.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 206,839 tonnes comprising of 183,621 tonnes of import cargo and 23,218 tonnes of export cargo including 3,960 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Friday.
The total import cargo of 183,621 tonnes includes 34,821 tonnes of coal; 42,083 tonnes of LNG; 12,700 tonnes of palm oil; 30,938 tonnes of steel coil; 22,595 tonnes of gas oil; 5,224 tonnes of soyabean; 2,238 tonnes of general cargo and 33,022 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 23,218 tonnes includes 23,218 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 3,960 containers comprising of 2,738 containers import and 1,222 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Friday.
There were three ships namely IVS Hayakita, Seneca and UACC Al-Medina carrying coal, soyabean and diesel oil respectively sailed out to sea on Friday morning, while four more ships namely CMA CGM Titus, Maersk Brooklyn, Qi Lin Song and Nasco Jade carrying containers, general cargo and steel coil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of twelve ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, general cargo, steel coil coal, soyabean, LPG, LNG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as twelve vessels viz. Aristo Mens, Athos, New Direction, Princess Margo, Daphne, Panorea, Lito, Gas Zeus, Gas Arma, Sundoro, Gulf Crystal and Hafnia Phoenix carrying containers, general cargo, steel coil, coal, soyabean, LPG and diesel oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were three ships viz. New Direction, Panorea and Sundoro carrying steel coil, soyabean and diesel oil respectively expected to take berths at Multi Purpose Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal and FOTCO Oil Terminal respectively on Friday.
There are two ships namely Jepesene Maersk and Diyala carrying containers due to arrive on Saturday.
