Prime Minister Imran Khan took notice of the import of conventional medicines from India under the guise of life-saving drugs and has directed Special Assistant for Accountability Shehzad Akbar to investigate.
The issue of importing conventional drugs from India under the guise of life-saving drugs came up in the last cabinet meeting after a summary of the import of 429 more drugs was tabled which was rejected.
Meanwhile, the Prime Minister's Office has issued a red-letter to 16 ministries for the second time for non-implementation of the decisions of the federal cabinet. It said that eight decisions were taken by the concerned ministries but five were not implemented, for which a period of 21 days was given.
Prime Delivery Unit will report to the cabinet, and the failure to implement will be included in the performance report.
According to sources, the ministries were given the responsibility of formulating rules and regulations for vacancies and also dealing with the issue of seniority and promotion of government employees.
