Smuggled cigarettes, Indian gutka seized by MCC

Model Customs Collectorate (MCC), Preventive on Wednesday claimed to have seized huge quantity of smuggled cigarettes and Indian gutka worth Rs 90.45 million at Boltan Market area.

According to details, credible information was received that substantial quantity of smuggled cigarettes and Indian gutka were stored at a warehouse located Bolton Market, Bandar Road.

Reacting on this information, a team of Anti Smuggling Organization (ASO) of MCC, Preventive raided the said warehouse and recovered huge quantity of smuggled cigarettes and Indian Pan Parag.

During thorough examination, the department has recovered 20,000 dandas of Benson and hedges valuing Rs.40 million, 5000 dandas of Brass valuing Rs 5 million, 2500 dandas of Tazz valuing Rs. 2.5 million, 5000dandas of Dunhil valuing Rs 10 million, 10,000 dandas of Chinese flavoured cigarettes valuing Rs 15 million, 20 cartons of King Edward cigars valuing Rs 10 million and 10,000 packets of assorted brands of Indian gutka valuing Rs 21 million. Consequent upon recovery, a case has been registered and further investigation is in progress.
