The 20-year-old pace sensation made this revelation during a Twitter session conducted by Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars.

“I try to learn a few good things from Wasim Akram and Mitchell Starc, and in particular want to learn Starc’s way to swing,” said Shaheen.

Shaheen, who already represented Pakistan in eight Tests, 19 One-day Internationals (ODI) and 12 Twenty20 Internationals (T20I), was disappointed for failing to dismiss world number one T20I batsman Babar Azam during PSL five campaign, which was suspended due to coronavirus outbreak.

"Despite dismissing many major players in the PSL I could not get Babar. He did not give me any opportunity but it is one of my wishes to take his wicket," he said.

Shaheen also thanked his teammates for supporting him during the period he was injured.

"I still played for them despite the injury and they supported me a lot. I got to learn a lot from foreign players such as Chris Lynn, Ben Dunk and Samit Patel," he concluded.
