US corn futures ended nearly unchanged on Thursday, with the most-active contract stabilizing after dropping to a 3-1/2-year low a day earlier.

Some bargain buying emerged following the recent slump, traders said. The market has come under pressure as a slowdown in the ethanol sector is reducing demand for corn to produce the biofuel. Some traders were unwinding long soyabean/short corn spread trades, a broker said.
