PPP Senator Moula Bux Chandio informed this during a meeting with Medical Superintendent of Civil Hospital Dr. Ghulam Mustafa Abbassi here on Sunday.

Underlining the need of improvement in the health care services being offered by the Civil Hospital, the Senator while citing the example of programmes like Peoples Primary Healthcare Initiative (PPHI) said the government was taking measures for the overall development of the health care sector.

He informed that he was trying to obtain funds to the tune of Rs20 million from the Prime Minister for the hospital's revamping besides Rs10 million which he would apportion from his own development funds for beautification of Civil Hospital.

Moula Bux Chandio said that Civil Hospital was the biggest hospital of Hyderabad and was also providing health care services to people from interior Sindh.

By looking at its significance it was highly regrettable that the hospital lagged behind in many areas in providing efficient health care services.

However, he expressed hope that the new MS would be able to undertake effective reforms in Civil Hospital.

The Senator also called upon the civil society and philanthropists to play their due role in helping out the poor people who visit the hospital for medical treatment.

Later, the MS gave a detailed briefing to the senator about the working of the hospital besides taking him for a visit to different wards.
