Gold import up by 9 percent

Pakistan's import of gold grew by 9 percent during July-Feb 2019-20 to $11.188 million, official figures say.
Rise in gold import comes to the tune of $0.913 million in July-Feb 2019-20 from $10.275 million in July-Feb 2018-19, Pakistan Bureau of Statistic shows.
Gold import volume went up by 2 percent or 4 kilograms to 266 kilograms in July-Feb 2019-20 from $262 kilograms in July-Feb 2018-19.
Up by 101 percent or $563,000, the country's gold import was $1.121 million in Feb 2020 comparing to the precious metal import of $558,000 in Feb 2019.
Import quantity of gold posted an increase of 69.23 percent or 9 kilograms to 22 kilograms in Feb 2020 as against the yellow metal import of 13 kilograms in Feb 2019.
