Two position papers worth Rs466.264m approved by CDWP

The Central Development Working Party (CDWP) has approved two position papers worth Rs466.264 million, and recommended four position papers worth Rs133 billion to the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (ECNEC) for consideration.
The CDWP meeting on Monday was presided over by Planning Commission Deputy Chairman Mohammad Jehanzeb Khan. Secretary Planning Zafar Hasan, senior officials from federal and provincial governments also participated in the meeting, while representatives from provincial governments participated through a videoconference.
Projects related to health, physical planning and housing, transport and communication, and water resources were considered during the meeting. Health-related project from Government of Punjab, "Punjab Human Capital Investment project" worth Rs52.8 billion was referred to the ECNEC.
The project envisages increasing access to quality health, education and social protection services among poor and vulnerable households in 11 districts of the Punjab. Two position papers related to physical planning and housing were presented in the meeting.
First project, "Construction of Admin Block, Magazine Quarter Guard, Barracks, MT Shed, Horse Stable and Parade Ground in Diplomatic Enclave, Islamabad" worth Rs280 million was approved in the meeting.
Second Position Paper "Construction of 4 Nos, B-type Police Station in various sectors of Islamabad" worth Rs185.416 million was also approved in the meeting. Two position papers related to transport and communications were presented namely "Peshawar Northern Bypass" worth Rs21.34 billion and "Up-gradation, widening and Construction of Surab-Hoshab Road N-85 (454 km)" worth Rs.28.8 billion both were referred to the ECNEC for further approval.
The last project relating to Government of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, "Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Irrigated Agriculture Improvement Project" worth Rs30.05 billion was also referred to the ECNEC for further approval.
