As per Tuttosport, club captain Chiellini had made a video call to all the senior members of the team, after speaking with President Andrea Agnelli and director Fabio Paratici.

Speaking with the senior members of the team first, namely Gigi Buffon, Leonardo Bonucci and Cristiano Ronaldo, Chiellini received enough backing to go to his other teammates and ask them to accept a pay cut during the Coronavirus outbreak in Italy.

However, the final decision is yet to be made. With different options available, in general all players seemed to have agreed to cut their wages in this time of crisis where training and games have come to a halt.

The cut is expected to be proportional and consequently, certain players will stand to lose more of their salary, including Cristiano Ronaldo who will cut his salary by €3.8m net.

Currently, the Bianconeri team and staff have finished their period of self-isolation and while Continassa is still closed, the players have continued to train at home.
