LSE loses 8.96 points

LAHORE: Bearish trend prevailed in Lahore Stock Exchange on Monday as it shed 8.96 points, following the LSE-25 index opened with 3527.87 and closed at 3581.91 points.

The market's overall situation also did not correspond to an upward trend as it remained at 2.068 million shares to close against previous turnover of 3.026 million shares, showing a downward slide of 958,198 shares. While, out of the total 96 active scrips 21 moved up, 51 remained equal and 24 shed values.

Engro Corporation Limited, Kohat Cement Company Limited and Pakistan Petroleum Limited were Major Gainer of the day by recording increase in their per share value by Rs 1.38, Re 0.99 and Re 0.79, respectively.

Adamjee Insurance Company, United Bank Limited and Fauji Fertilizer Company lost their per share value by Rs 3.44, Rs 1.91 and Rs 1.02, respectively.

The Volume Leader of the day included Lafarge Pakistan Cement with 616,620 shares, Dewan Cement Limited with 268,000 shares and The Bank of Punjab Limited with 127,113 shares.
