  • The season five was postponed by the PCB following coronavirus cases spiked globally.

The Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) season five came to an unexpected conclusion following the outbreak of coronavirus, which put most parts of the world in isolation.

Now the tournament was being cancelled and everyone reached home safely, what is next for the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) now and how they are planning to finish the tournament.

There are number of suggestions available actually. One and the most discussed is to complete the tournament after the World T20 2020.

This looks a kind of possibility as a report suggests that the officials at the board are thing to wrap up the tournament in November. However it is not decided whether to stick with the amended scheduled – played semifinals and final – or complete whole 34 games which includes playoff.

Adding some weight behind this report, in an interview Karachi Kings owner Salman Iqbal also hinted at the possibility of completing the tournament after World T20.

His side, who finished second on the points table had to face Lahore Qalanders in second semifinal.

Meanwhile, another suggests which was proposed by Multan Sultans all-rounder Shahid Afridi was to award the HBL PSL crown on bases of position at the points table.

He looked convinced while twitting this suggestion as the Sultans finished their campaign as table toppers.

However, the final decision over the matter will be made by the board, which will decided the fate of the HBL PSL2020.
