Work has started on multi-million dollars Pakistan's Expo 2020 pavilion, a part of Dubai Expo 2020, informed Pakistan's Consul-General in Dubai, Ahmed Amjad Ali.

As per Khaleej Times, the pavilion will be constructed at the cost of $21 million or over three billion rupees and will cover over 3,449 square meters of land.

The Pakistani pavilion has been designed by Pinchtech Engineering Consultants, whereas, Al Shafar General Contracting Co. LLC. Dubai has been appointed the main contractor for the project, added the report

Pakistan keen to attract foreign investment signed a participation contract with Expo 2020 authorities in 2018. Dubai assumes that Expo 2020 — which runs from October 20 this year to April 20, 2021 — will attract some 25 million visits, consultants Ernst and Young said in a study.

The global trade fair is expected to give the United Arab Emirates an economic boost of over $33 billion. It is also expected to add 1.5 percent to UAE's gross domestic product per year over the period that started in 2013 and runs until 2031, and would create some 50,000 jobs yearly over the same period..
