Jordan's state grain buyer has issued an international tender to purchase 120,000 tonnes of animal feed barley to be sourced from optional origins, European traders said on Thursday.
The tender deadline is Feb. 19, traders said.
A new tender had been expected after Jordan made no purchase in its previous barley tender on Wednesday.
The relatively large number of 13 trading houses had submitted price offers on Wednesday, which was Jordan's first reported barley tender since April 2019.
In the past few months Jordan has struggled to buy grain in international tenders after changed terms for quality specifications and payment reduced participation by trading houses, but recent tenders have been more successful.
The barley in the latest tender is sought in a range of possible shipment combinations in 60,000 tonne consignments, traders said. Possible shipment periods are May 1-15, May 16-31, June 1-15 and June 16-30.
Jordan has also issued a separate tender for 120,000 tonnes of wheat closing on February 18.
