Boosting one of the world's largest freelance software developers, Pakistan now wants to capitalize on its potential and has invited the Arab world to tap into this market.

“We lack the cooperation in technology with Saudi Arabia, and I would like to have closer cooperation with the Arab World in this sector,” said Federal Minister for Science and Technology Fawad Ahmed Chaudhry, quoted Arab News.

The minister highlighted that Pakistan is the world's fourth largest software exporter urging the Arab world to focus on Pakistan for their software requirements. “So instead of relying on Europe and USA for routine software, and pay huge sum for that, the Arab world should rather focus on Pakistan,” said Fawad.

The minister was of the view that the Arab world can benefit immensely from Pakistan experience, as “we will be able to bring your requirement at much cheaper rates and the standard would be as good as in the international markets”.

Freelance economy is one of the hottest sectors right now, in a recently released report by Payoneer, Pakistan was placed at fourth spot, well above India and Bangladesh with 47 percent growth in freelance revenue.
