Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Shipping activity remained normal at Port Qasim during last 24 hours, where three ships carrying containers, sun flower seeds and diesel oil were allotted berth at Qasim International Containers Terminal, FAP Terminal and FOTCO Terminal on Sunday, May 6, 2012. Meanwhile three more ships scheduled to load/offload containers and chemical also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 45 percent at the Port on Monday Where total number of five ships namely Maersk Kentuky, Indian Fortune, Acacia, Endless and Al Soor II are currently occupying berths to load/offload containers, wheat, sun flower seeds, coal and diesel oil respectively during last 24 hours.

A cargo volume of 44851 tonnes comprising 36836 tonnes imports and 8015 tonnes exports inclusive of containerized cargo carried in 739 containers (Boxes) was handled at the Port during last 24 hours.
