Ehsan Mani to convince Bangladeshi counterpart for Test series

Ehsan Mani will be meeting Bangladesh Cricket Board President Nazmul Hassan, in Dubai this week on the sidelines of the ICC Governance Review Committee meeting, following which the PCB will provide further updates on Bangladesh men's national cricket team's upcoming tour of Pakistan.

The Dubai meeting is a continuation of the discussion process, which the PCB has followed to reach a consensus with the BCB on its national men's cricket team's tour itinerary, a PCB spokesman, said.

PCB chairman Ehsan Mani already said: "Pakistan will no longer look for neutral venues to stage home international cricket matches; the onus will be on the other teams to tell us why they can't play in Pakistan."

Ehsan Mani said: "Our default position will remain that Pakistan is safe. We play cricket in Pakistan (and if) you want to play against Pakistan you have to come to Pakistan."

The BCB president Nazmul Hassan after the board's first meeting of the New Year at the home of cricket in Dhaka said: "We have got security advice. We applied for Government Order (GO). Due to the particular situation in the Middle East, we have been told to stay there for a short period of time. We will play the Test series later."

The BCB and PCB are yet to reach a consensus on the itinerary for the tour, as the hosts want to stage a full series consisting of two Tests and three T20s in the country.
