Mexico's peso slumps past 100-day SMA after US jobs data

Published Updated

MEXICO CITY: Mexico's peso weakened sharply on Friday after data showed US employers cut back on hiring in April, undercutting the outlook for Mexico's exports to its northern neighbor.

The peso shed 0.75 percent to 13.10 per dollar, pushing the cost of dollars in pesos past its 100-day simple moving average around 13.08.
