Shipping activity at Port Qasim

KARACHI: Shipping activity remained active at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours, where two ships carrying containers and furnace oil were allotted berth at Qasim International  Containers Terminal and FOTCO Terminal on Wednesday, a statement of the port said Thursday.

Three more ships scheduled to load/ offload containers and coal also arrived at outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

Berth occupancy was 55% at the Port on Thursday where total number of six ships namely MSC Levina, Catamarca, Unicorn Emeraid, Mary Amm Hudson, Never Land and SC Belhai are currently occupying berths to load/ offload containers, cement, wheat, rice, furnace oil and edible oil respectively.

A cargo volume of 39084 tonnes comprising 20830 tonnes imports and 18254 tonnes exports inclusive of containerised cargo carried in 614 containers (boxes) was handled at the Port during the last 24 hours.
