DC for rapid completion of Kashmir bridge underpass

Divisional Commissioner Ishrat Ali has asked the concerned officers to accelerate their administrative and technical efforts for speedily completion of Kashmir bridge underpass mega project at Canal road.

He was inspecting the pace of work of this project. He directed that the comfort of the citizens should be kept in view during the construction process.

The commissioner inspected the different parts of under construction underpass and checked the quality of construction. He stressed upon utilising the available funds transparently and said that regular monitoring be carried out on daily basis. He urged upon completing the eastern part of the underpass by the first week of January and said that remaining funds would be provided by the Punjab Govt.

He said that the mega project of underpass was very important and significant for the easy flow of traffic on this site at Canal road. He said that the citizens would not only get the relief with regards of the traffic flow but also developmental aspects of the city would also be highlighted through this project. He said that no stone should be kept unturned for durable and beautiful construction of this project.

Chief Engineer FDA Shahid Mehmud informed during his briefing that the underpass project would be completed at the cost of Rs1.28 billion. He informed that utmost efforts would be made to complete this project finally by June 2020. He said that the project would be made inline with the modern requirements by utilising all technical expertise.
