BMP hopeful of wining presidential election of FPCCI

Secretary general (Federal) of the Businessmen Panel and former chairman Standing Committee Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry Ahmad Jawad said Mian Anjum Nisar will give a tough competition in the presidential election of the FPCCI which will be held on coming Friday, December 27th.

He said ruling group made almost all arrangements to disqualify Anjum Nisar through different forums. He was hopeful for giving a tough fight to the United Business Group officials.

Talking to Business Recorder, Jawad said around 340 votes will be cast this year and we hope FPCCI 2020 elections will change a fate of the Federation in real terms. "We received immense feedback and support from different corners of the business community, because businessmen want that FPCCI should deliver for their cause and address their genuine demands".

Yet industries, trade and business community are confronted with multiple problems and they should have to exhibit unity to vote the presidential candidate of BMP Mian Anjum Nisar and his cabinet to resolve the problems of the trading community.

On the question of kinnow exports estimation for ongoing season, he said export of Kinnow from Pakistan has already commenced and an export target of 300,000 metric tons has been set for the current season which is expected to generate valuable foreign exchange of $19.5 million during this season.

He said that concerted efforts would be required on government level so that with extensive Research & Development (R&D) new orchards with new varieties can be established across the country.

Jawad also stressed upon the Federal Ministry of National Food Security & Research and the provincial governments to initiate the process of R&D in the horticulture sector so that serious concern over the food security can be promptly addressed and simultaneously address the issues of the Iran Commerce Ministry so that Kinnow exports to Iran should resume.
