ICE Canadian canola futures rose on Friday to the highest price this month on crusher buying and spillover strength from soy, boosted by progress in US-China trade talks. Hedge-related sales near the day's highs took the edge off canola's gains, a trader said, adding that canola prices look attractive next to soybeans and soyoil.
January canola added $1.90 to $461 per tonne in brisk volume. It touched the highest front-month price since Nov. 25. January-March canola spread traded 8,936 times.
