LHC seeks reply on application against POL price hike

Published Updated

The application was filed by Secretary Consumer Rights Forum Pakistan Muhammad Hanif Goraya through his counsel Mateen-ul-Haq Chaudhry into an already pending main writ petition on the matter.

Through the application, the petitioner contended that the notification regarding the recent increase in POL prices by the federal government was unlawful, ineffective, ultra vires over the rights of citizens of Pakistan.

He said the act of the respondents would impact the already crushed and downtrodden people of Pakistan.

The petitioner pleaded the court to set aside the notification of increase in POL prices by approximately 9.9 percent.

After hearing the arguments, Justice Sh. Azmat Saeed sought reply within two weeks from the gederal government and OGRA.
