Actor Keanu Reeves's acting career has revived once again after the massive success of recently released ‘John Wick 3’. Now, it is going to be double trouble at the box office as Reeves’ most anticipated ‘The Matrix 4’ and ‘John Wick: Chapter 4’ will be releasing on the same day.
The newest installments of Reeves’ most iconic movies will both premiere on the same date. Makers have announced the release dates of the films, which are colliding on May 21, 2021.
While it seems like viewers will have to make a difficult choice about how they'd like to enjoy the work of Reeves that day, it's likely that one of them will move their release date to avoid unnecessary competition.
The Matrix sequel was more of a surprise, as the trilogy doesn’t necessarily need a new chapter, especially given that it’ll pick up the action nearly twenty years after the third movie. Warner may always change its mind and move the release window for ‘Matrix 4’ so it doesn’t compete against ‘John Wick 4’. However, in the meantime, both movies have the same premiere date.
