The Punjab Institute of Cardiology (PIC) came under attack on Wednesday after lawyers stormed into the premises of the hospital.

Six patients have so far died after the protest turned violent. The lawyers damaged equipment inside and broke windows of the hospital as well as cars parked outside. Police used tear gas and baton charge to remove the lawyers from the hospital's premises.

Punjab Chief Minister Usman Buzdar also took notice of the attack by lawyers on PIC and has ordered an investigation.

Punjab Information Minister Fayyazul Hasan Chauhan who arrived at the hospital, said that lawyers tried to kidnap him. He can also be seen being manhandled by a group of protesting lawyers in a vidoe posted on Twitter.
