ICE Canadian canola futures rose on Wednesday for a fifth straight session, fuelled by price strength in crops that produce vegetable oil, and weakness in the Canadian dollar. Canola's gains were limited by slowing production at some Canadian crushing plants due to a railway strike.
January canola gained $1.30 to $466.50 per tonne. January-March canola spread traded 3,385 times. Chicago soyabean futures hit a seven-week low on fading expectations for a US-China trade deal.
