  • Insisting that the issue was blown out of proportion, Swara says she has never abused children nor any of her co-actors.
  • Swara in her clarification said that the format of the show allows usage of such words.

Bollywood actress Swara Bhaskar has faced severe backlash from the fans for using swear words for a child artist in a comedy show. The actress has now, however, denied all the allegations and said she has never abused any children or co-actor.

The actress has stated that the video was blown out of proportion. "I was on a comedy show, narrating a funny incident about my first experience shooting in Mumbai. In that partly exaggerated and satirical narration, where I was using a comedic, adult and self-deprecating tone, I used certain swear words. The words were used to display in an adult-humorous tone, my exaggerated frustrations and emotions during my struggling days," she told IANS.

The furore happened after a video clip from the chat show ‘Son of Abish’ surfaced, where she used abusive words for a child actor who called her ‘aunty’. While narrating an incident from her initial days of career, she categorized children as ‘evil’ and also used some offensive words for the child artist.

As soon as the video went viral, comments started pouring in on social media criticising the actress.
